SightWords Pro app for iPhone and iPad
***** 24x7digitals SightWords app has been featured as an iTunes App Store Staff Pick!
Help your young learner master the most frequently used words in the English language!
A child who can recognize just 8 of 10 words in a sentence can typically understand its meaning! "Sight words" often cannot be illustrated via simple pictures or sounded out according to regular phonetic decoding rules, thus they need to be learned and recognized "on sight". Our SightWords app is a handy way to encourage a childs mastery of their sight words either as part of a structured reading program at school, or as an impromptu study session when standing in line at the grocery store.
SightWords Pro contains a selection of over 1,600+ sight words which comprises up to 85% of the text in a childs early reading materials -- comprehensively compiled from Dolch, Fry, Pinnell-Fountas, UK, and many other high-frequency word lists. Choose a pre-defined flash card word list, or build and save custom flash card lists to match what is taught in the classroom. Add custom words and record your own pronunciations. Mark flash cards with stars or flags. Flash cards respond to swipes and taps. Shake your device to shuffle the words. Beautiful voice-pronunciations for all included words.

Pros and cons of SightWords Pro app for iPhone and iPad
SightWords Pro app good for
Hes in Kindergarten and loves this, just another great way of teaching kids nowadays. Awsome that there are so many ways to teach kids how to read. Little brother and sis are catching on too. Will get the next sight words once oldest has mastered this one.
Thank you for another great app.. I have purchased 4 of your apps and love them all.. I would like to see you add pale colours for the background.. I find it much easier on the eyes... Cheers and keep up the great work....
PS...
I would love to see you make an app for building sentences using the same sight words... with the added ability to create your own sentences (3 - 6 words), with a recording option... :-)
Cheers!!
Some bad moments

The pronounciation is off for several of the words, making it rather useless.
Wouldnt want my child to learn incorrectly.
Should have stuck to good old flashcards.
Finally a smart game! My little ones love to play with my iphone, and now they can learn to recognize the words too!!! A++++
Although this app has simple graphics, it has been a great tool for my son to learn his sight words (which are difficult because they are often not easily "sounded out!") We make a game out of it by trying to get 10 right in a row and he has made a lot of progress with the sight words he had trouble with before. In the first 10 minutes of our simple game, he learned 5 new dolch sight words and are now looking forward to the next set of dolch words! Couldnt be happier with this purchase!
Agree with prior reviewer in that some pronunciations are bad. However, if you are trying to teach a five year old to read, its a handy, unintimidating tool.
I like the size of the words and the simplicity of the screen but there is no button to go back through the sight words. The swiping capabilty would allow me to go through a limited number of words and then go back to review them. Wish Id known about this problem before I bought the app!
Spice it up a little. The voice sounds like Stephen Hawking, and the app icon looks like someone made it in 2 seconds. How about a little background behind the words and a childs voice for saying the words (boy and girl).
